Mandy Dixon Mandy Dixon is Chair of Eden and South Lakeland Delivery Board.She is Centre Manager of K Village and Chair of South Lakeland Local Strategic Partnership. She has been involved with and managed the successful K Village Outlet Centre, Kendal which is currently undergoing a £100 million private sector redevelopment since it opened in 1995. After graduating from University in London, Mandy pursued a career with Barclays Bank PLC moving to the Lake District in 1985 to start a family, She took up a career in the Retail Industry as a Store Manager of Jumpers Ltd on Kendal’s High Street, later opening the Jumpers Outlet in the new K Village in 1995 After taking on the role as K Village’s Sales, Marketing and Tourism Manager, she became Centre Manager in 2000, with responsibilities ranging from day-to-day retail operations and customer service to marketing and working with Cumbria Tourism to maximise the outlet’s profile as a visitor destination welcoming approximately one million visitors a year. Mandy is an enthusiastic advocate of the effectiveness of public private sector partnerships and as such is an active member of a number of partnership bodies. She is Chair, and founding member, of South Lakeland Strategic Partnership with special responsibilities for jobs, skills and regeneration. She is also a member of the Cumbria Strategic Partnership Executive; Director of Cumbria Rural Enterprise Agency; a Board Member of economic regeneration partnership Kendal Futures; Board Member of Cumbria Tourism and Chair and founding member South Lakes Tourist Action Group. She is a keen supporter of the cultural events developments in the County from an economic and social well being perspective as such in her business capacity has been a major champion and sponsor over the years of Mintfest, Kendal’s International Street Festival; the Kendal Mountain Film Festival. Outside work Mandy is married with two grown up children and as a balance to a hectic business life enjoys relaxing by cooking, entertaining, skiing, badminton and gardening.
