John Hudson

John Hudson is Managing Director of BAE Systems Submarine Solutions. He is independent member of the Cumbria Vision Board for the Business, Enterprise and Employment theme.

John became Managing Director of BAE Submarine Solutions in March 2009 after previously serving as Engineering Director. He trained as a naval architect and joined the shipyard in Barrow in 1989 after a number of positions in the commercial shipbuilding industry. He has worked on a number of submarine and surface ship projects in various capacities and was appointed to the management board in 1999.

John is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering and the Royal Institution of Naval Architects and has written and presented papers on engineering project topics and served on industry bodies.

Delighted to be a member of the Cumbria Vision board, he looks forward to playing an active role in promoting the County and its infrastructure.
