Councillor Tim Heslop 

Councillor Tim Heslop is Leader of Allerdale Borough Council.

He became Leader in June 2009 having represented the Derwent Valley ward on the council for 18 years. Tim is a member of the West Cumbria Delivery Board and previously served on the Cumbria Vision and West Lakes Renaissance boards of directors as Cumbria County Council’s portfolio holder for regeneration and economic development.

He is Chair of the Derwent Forest and the Derwent Valley task groups; a member of the Nuclear Issues Task Group and a member of the Cumbria Tourism and Port of Workington boards.

Tim has farmed at High Dyke two miles outside Cockermouth all of his working life.
