Britain's Energy Coast West Cumbria

Britain's Energy Coast West Cumbria is a divisional arm of Urban Regeneration Company West Lakes Renaissance.

The Board has been created to bring greater geographical focus to regeneration activity across the boroughs of Copeland and Allerdale. Its primary focus is to oversee the delivery of projects contained in the West Cumbria Spatial Masterplan. The Masterplan, along with regeneration programmes for Barrow, combine to form the Britain’s Energy Coast™ vision for West Cumbria and Furness.

The Board has been selected with an emphasis on the specific skills and attributes each member brings. Private sector members bring vast experience of those industries important to West Cumbria, while all public sector partners are represented. The Board is chaired by former Government Energy Minister Brian Wilson.

The Britain's Energy Coast West Cumbria board is supported by an executive team based at the West Lakes Renaissance offices in Whitehaven and Maryport. The team is led by Programme Director, Stuart Cowperthwaite.
