Councillor Brendan Jameson 

Councillor Brendan Jameson is Leader of South Lakeland District Council.

He has served as councillor for the Kendal Parks ward in South Lakeland for 10 years and became Leader of the Council in 2006. Leader of the authority’s ruling Liberal Democrat Party, he is also a member of Cumbria Strategic Partnership; Furness Enterprise Supervisory Board; and South Lakeland Local Strategic Partnership.

Brendan has a particular interest in encouraging recycling across South Lakeland and Cumbria and increasing the number of affordable homes for local people. He has also developed stronger working relations with Cumbria County Council and regional organisations to ensure the South Lakeland’s voice is louder and better heard by Government.

Brendan is South Lakeland born and bred, attending Kendal Grammar School before working at K Shoes in Kendal and as a self-employed contract cleaner for almost 25 years. Outside his work Brendan is a keen singer, fronting his own band, and enjoys walking.
