The Cumbria Economic Strategy & Sub Regional Action Plan

For the past two years Cumbria Vision and partners have been working together to establish a single set of clear and deliverable economic priorities for Cumbria. We have worked through a process of analysis that has identified Cumbria’s key strengths and what needs to be done strategically to build on them for the benefit of the whole County. At the same time we have brought together in a single document all the economically relevant projects within the County that are currently at some stage of conception, planning or development. As a result, this Action Plan for the first time enables us to use the analysis from the Cumbria Economic Strategy in order to match priorities to strategy in a much more systematic way.

A total of 11 Strategy Action Plans (SAPs) have been produced to provide a clear link between the aspirations outlined in the Cumbria Economic Strategy and the delivery of the actions which will be outlined in the Cumbria Sub Regional Action Plan. The SAPs cover a broad spectrum of industry sectors which are important to the County’s economic prosperity.
